Men's Cross Country claimed their third consecutive NJCAA Region I DII championship title while Women's Corss Coutnry claimed runner-up status for the second consecutive year. The Pumas competed in the Region I Championship meet on Friday, October 24, at Crossroads Park in Gilbert, AZ.
The Puma men were led by Freshman Brady Eagar (26:07.10), Alexavier Martinez (26:12.20), and Kevin DeGroff (26:20.90) who finished second through fourth respectively over the 8,000m course. Conor McGlynn was next in for the Pumas, placing ninth overall in a time of 26:54.20. He was followed by Joel Bejarano, 14th (27:30.40); Jeremiah Judd, 15th (27:39.20); and Nicholas Hiser, 19th (29:10.20). The top six Pumas earned NJCAA All-Region honors. Edgar Avila-Mendoza from Coconino Community College won the individual title with a time of 25:54.70.
The Puma women came up just short, bested by Mesa by a score of 26-33. The Pumas were led by Freshman Audrey Encinas (18:42.40) and Sophomore Laynee Hollech (18:42.80) who finished second and third respectively over the 5000m course. They were followed by teammates Arianna Mason, sixth (19:22.80); Tatyana Enriquez, 10th (20:08.10); McKenna Martin, 13th (21:24.80); Catalina Case, 14th (21:28.30); and Shantelle Berrien, 18th (22:40.00). The top six Pumas earned NJCAA All-Region honors. Oliva Baker from Mesa Community College won the individual title with a time of 18:23.80.
The Pumas complete their season at the 2025 NJCAA Cross Country National Championship meet on November 8 in Fort Dodge, IA. The men race at 1:30pm (MST), and the women race at 2:30pm (MST).
