SOFTBALL FALLS TO PHOENIX COLLEGE

Game 1: PVCC 0, PC 8 (5)

Phoenix College defeated the Pumas 8-0 in game one of the double header thanks in part to six runs in the third inning.

Phoenix College scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the third inning. 

Brianna Sanchez led things off in the circle for the Pumas. The pitcher allowed 12 hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three and walking six. 

Jalyssa Vasquez led Paradise Valley with one hit in three at bats. Defensively, the Valley Pumas were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Kiarah Delgado made the most plays with four.

Game 2: PVCC 0, PC 8 (5)

The Pumas had trouble keeping up with Phoenix College in an 8-0 loss in game two of the double header on Saturday.

The Pumas were only able to get one hit off of the Bears pitcher, a single by Brianna Sanchez.

Shyla Vasquez took the loss for the Pumas. The starter went four and one-third innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on 13 hits, striking out two and walking two.

The Pumas travel to Chandler-Gilbert on Tuesday, February 17. First pitch is at 5:00pm.
