The Puma men's and women's golf teams wrapped up their season at the NJCAA Region I Golf Tournament, held April 20–23 at Ocotillo Golf Course. Competing against some of the top programs in not only the region but the country, both squads delivered strong performances, with the women finishing third overall and the men placing fourth.
The men's team was led by Gael Quesada, who put together an impressive four-day performance to finish tied for fifth at +3. Quesada saved his best for last, making a final-day surge with a 3-under 68. He set the tone early with an eagle on the opening hole and added three birdies to cap off one of the strongest rounds of the tournament.
Freshmen Ethan Cameron and Tate Tigges provided key support, each finishing tied for 11th at +19. Their consistency across four rounds helped anchor the Pumas in a tightly contested field and highlighted the depth of a young and developing roster.
On the women's side, freshman Layla Crimp led the way with an 11th-place finish, continuing to build momentum in her first collegiate season. Her performance underscored the team's steady growth and competitiveness throughout the year.
Across both teams, the Region I Championship served as a fitting conclusion to a season defined by progress and resilience. Facing the pressure of postseason play, the Pumas showed composure and the ability to compete at a high level.
With the 2025–26 season now complete, Paradise Valley looks ahead with confidence—returning experience, emerging talent, and the goal of building on this year's success.
